How I found my path…
Back in March 2006 in the company I was working, we had our big boss visiting us from the US. So of course all the employees were invited. I spotted a free seat beside a guy who was working in my department for a few months but to whom I never got to talk to before. In the split of a second he managed to tell me he had a background as a Life Coach. The magic words entered my ears, moved in straight into my subconscious - like a seed is sowed to stay there for good- waiting for the best time to pop up into my consciousness.
My colleague/life coach gave me “the power of the now” by Eckhart Tolle. It was the first epiphany for me. Living in the now that was it! As it was written: we can’t change the past, the future may never happen, so all we’ve got for sure and for real is the now.
Frustrating how the answer was so simple. A three year old could have guessed because kids do live in the now!
From now on, I was looking for material on how to handle that present we seem to ignore when we are in as adults. And as Paolo Coelho is saying in his book “the alchemist”: when you are really looking for truthful things the whole universe is schemed to make it happen. That’s how I ended up entering the library we have in our department for the first time since I arrived in that company two years earlier. Over there second epiphany, I found a book written by a life coach (Steve Chandler) called “reinventing yourself”. I felt like in big brother, someone observing my quest and putting clues on my way to guide me.
From that book I googled Life Coaching to discover more about this great way of approaching life and getting to help people to find balance and harmony in their life. I registered to an evening class on the subject by September of the same year. I didn’t learn much from that class itself but I met a person who told me about a course and the certification I could get at the end. I simply couldn’t miss that chance.
For the first time in my professional life I feel at the right place at the right time…
